Details Make the Difference

Because we are owned and operated by Z Scale enthusiasts, we know why you love Z: It’s all about the details. We agree. That’s why we spend so much time researching our models and demanding the little extras from our tool makers.
When we designed our GP-7 locomotive, we insisted on changes to the molds that would allow us to offer more versions that are prototypically correct, such as with and without the dynamic break or winterization hatch.
When our designers told us that our SD-70 locomotive hood would have to be 15% wider than it should be to accommodate our Z scale standard setting Faulhaber Coreless motor, we challenged them to come up with a unique solution - and they did. To make our hood units in the correct width, they designed an etched brass plate around the motor that is thinner than injected plastic. It worked so well, we continued it on our GP-7 locomotives. It may be more expensive to produce, be we think it makes a difference worthy of our name.
